Save layer

In Options Layer settings tool, you can use the Save layer option Save to save a scene layer's style and properties to the scene layer item. For example, this allows you to configure pop-ups and set styles to a scene layer and save those directly to the scene layer. The saved scene layer can then be added to any scene and the saved pop-up configuration and style are applied.

Note:
Save a scene layer is only available for scene layers in which you are the item owner or the portal administrator.

To save a scene layer, do the following:

  1. Verify you are signed in to the portal and open Scene Viewer.
  2. Open an existing scene.
  3. Set the styles and properties for the scene layer.
  4. Click Options Layer settings tool and select Save layer.

The layer style and properties are saved to the layer item.

  5. You can make additional changes to the layer style and properties and click Save layer.

The new layer style and properties are saved to the layer item.

  6. Close the scene without saving.

The scene layer style and properties at the opening of the scene are maintained in the web scene item. You can further change the layer styles and properties and save the scene, and those changes are saved to the web scene item. When you open the scene again, the layer style and properties in the web scene item override the saved layer item configuration.

Open a saved scene layer

You can open a saved scene layer directly in Scene Viewer and preview the layer style and properties.

  1. Verify you are signed in to the portal and open Scene Viewer.
  2. Find the scene layer item in My Content.
  3. Click Open in Scene Viewer.

The scene opens the scene layer and displays the saved layer style and properties.

    Tip:

You can make changes to the scene layer in a different scene, save the layer, refresh the first scene without saving, and the recently saved layer style and properties are applied.
