User type extensions are licenses that extend the capabilities of ArcGIS Enterprise for specific users in an organization. They can be included in a user type or as an add-on license that you assign to members in your portal.
Although user type extensions provide access to this functionality, administrators will need to ensure that organization members are assigned appropriate user types and roles to do their work. For example, if a member is assigned the Viewer user type and the Viewer role, they will only be able to view parcel fabric services and other content across ArcGIS Enterprise. See User types, roles, and privileges for more information.
ArcGIS Parcel Fabric
The parcel fabric provides a comprehensive framework for managing, editing, and sharing parcel data in ArcGIS Enterprise. In a multiuser environment, the parcel fabric can be edited and maintained using a services-based architecture. A services-based architecture allows you to share the parcel fabric across platforms (desktop, mobile, and web), and different workflows can be enabled on different clients in the field and in the office.
To use the parcel fabric with ArcGIS Enterprise, your organization members must be assigned a license for the ArcGIS Parcel Fabric user type extension. This user type extension is included in the GIS Professional Standard and GIS Professional Advanced user types and can be included as an add-on for user types with at least the capability to view and edit data, such as Field Worker, Editor, Creator, and GIS Professional Basic user types.
For more information about using the parcel fabric in ArcGIS Pro, see the parcel fabric help.
ArcGIS Trace Network
The trace network provides a comprehensive framework of functionality to visualize, manage, and analyze simple connectivity models such as rail and hydrology.
Store your data and trace network in an enterprise geodatabase and you can publish it to edit and maintain a trace network using a services-based architecture. This allows you to share the trace network across platforms (desktop, mobile, and web). To use the trace network with ArcGIS Enterprise, your organization members must be assigned a license for the ArcGIS Trace Network user type extension. This user type extension is included in the GIS Professional Standard and GIS Professional Advanced user types and can be included as an add-on for all other user types.
For more information about using the trace network in ArcGIS Pro, see the trace network help.
ArcGIS Utility Network
The utility network provides a comprehensive framework of functionality for modeling electric, gas, water, and other utilities.
Store your data and utility network in an enterprise geodatabase and you can publish it to edit and maintain the utility network using a services-based architecture. This allows you to share utility networks across platforms (desktop, mobile, and web). To use the utility network with ArcGIS Enterprise, your organization members must be assigned a license for the ArcGIS Utility Network user type extension. This user type extension is included in the GIS Professional Standard and GIS Professional Advanced user types and can be included as an add-on for all other user types.
For more information about using the utility network in ArcGIS Pro, see the utility network help.
