What's new in this release

The workflows available in ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes are described below and links to information about specific functionality are provided. For a list of issues that were addressed at this release, see Release notes.

Product highlights

  • License your organization to manage, process, and serve collections of imagery as image services.

Organization administration

  • Assign member categories when adding new members to the organization or specify a default set of member categories to automatically assign to new members when they join.
  • Enhance your organization's search results with the new Search using related terms item setting, which is enabled by default. Search results will include all items that contain the search term in the title or tags and any items that contain tags with related terms.
  • Create organization webhooks through the portal website.
  • Subscribe to service webhooks for geoprocessing and feature services. Learn how to create webhooks in ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Configure member categories for the organization with the new Manage categories privilege.
  • When adding members in bulk to your organization using a .csv file, the process of identifying and fixing field errors has been improved. Errors are now clearly flagged and can be fixed directly in the portal without requiring you to upload a new or modified file.
  • Set the height of the cover image to two-thirds of the screen when configuring the header of your organization home page.
  • Change the ownership of a report schedule to another default administrator.
  • Enable or disable read-only mode from ArcGIS Enterprise Manager.
  • Use the create-admin-account tool to regain access to the organization when administrative credentials are no longer available.

User experience

  • Quickly preview a feature's sublayers and tables and see a list of associated fields when browsing content listings. The preview window also offers options for working with the sublayers and tables contained in a feature layer, such as viewing details about the item or opening it in Map Viewer.

Mapping and visualization

  • Customize multilayer symbols for points, lines, and polygons in Map Viewer. By editing the properties of individual symbol layers, you can achieve a more precise level of control when symbolizing data in your map.
  • Use multilayer and complex polygon symbols, including hatch fills made from marker symbols, to style a layer or create a sketch layer. Additionally, you can configure pattern properties for hatch fill symbols, such as specifying the rotation of the hatch fill pattern.
  • Configure animation properties such as the animation duration and repeat delay time when using animated symbols authored in ArcGIS Pro.
  • Use pie charts to visualize data in tables and layers in Map Viewer.
  • Configure binning to aggregate point features into summary polygons. New clustering options are also available, including the ability to override the cluster symbol to differentiate between clustered and unclustered features, and the option to configure pie chart clusters that show the proportions of categories in each cluster. Clustering is also now supported in additional projections as an alternative to Web Mercator and WGS 1984.
  • Two new smart mapping styles in Map Viewer allow you to visualize categorical numeric data as a pie chart. Use the Charts style to compare categories in a single feature and the Charts and Size style to compare categories in a single feature and the totals between locations.
  • Configure settings for multidimensional imagery layers to display specific data slices in the map.
  • Manually add a category for values that do not yet exist in your data in Map Viewer.

3D GIS

  • Add dimensions to your scene and save them in slides. You can group the dimensions into themes with different colors and sizes to customize the visualization.
  • Enhance your visualizations in Scene Viewer by adding weather effects such as clouds, rain, snow, and fog to your scene using the new Weather tool.
  • Scene Viewer now allows you to add 3D buildings and trees to your scene that are globally available from OpenStreetMap. You can mask out areas where you want to show 3D data of your own.
  • Scene Viewer now supports GeoJSON and CSV layers in your scenes.
  • Perform line of sight analysis and save it in your slides to share with others.
  • Styling in Scene Viewer has been enhanced. You can style your line data with different patterns or add markers, such as arrows, to show direction in your scene. You can also view heat map visualizations of point layers.
  • You can now use the Daylight tool to improve lighting in your scene, such as in the polar regions.
  • The editing experience in Scene Viewer has been improved with ToolTips that guide you while creating and editing features.
