The workflows available in ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes are described below and links to information about specific functionality are provided. For a list of issues that were addressed at this release, see Release notes.
Supported environments
- ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes is supported on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
Organization administration
- When a required update is available, you must apply it before upgrading to 11.0 or a subsequent release. Required updates include functional requirements and are a prerequisite to the latest software release. Review the

- Create and restore backups in ArcGIS Enterprise Manager.
- Delete backups based on a specified retention period.
- Configure web-tier authentication using ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes Web Adaptor.
- Generate encrypted passwords with the password-encrypt.sh tool.
- License ArcGIS Image Server as a server role.
- Monitor service statistics for additional service types including geoprocessing and image services.
- Experience enhancements such as the ability to create a full system backup and apply cumulative updates when performing updates and upgrades.
API administration
For details about these new features, see What's new in the ArcGIS Enterprise Administrator API.
- Search logs for keywords and phrases.
- View, edit, and monitor status for asynchronous geoprocessing jobs.
- View container registry details such as the registry name and URL, and update container registry values such as username and password.
User experience
A new streamlined experience for adding content to your organization is available from the New item button on the Content page. To save you time, the new interface allows you to drag files onto the interface instead of browsing to them. Tags are also not required in the new interface, which allows you to take the time to determine the best tags for an item before you add them. The improved design also includes simplified workflows for publishing hosted layers from files, linking to layers on the web, and creating feature layers, tile layers, and locator views.
The Create app button was also added to the Content page, providing you with a new access point for creating ArcGIS Configurable Apps.
Mapping and visualization
- The new Map Viewer includes the following highlights:
- Draw features and place stamps on the map using the new sketch tool.
- Switch quickly between layers when styling, configuring pop-ups, and making other changes to multiple layers in the map.
- Hide interface elements to expand the size of the map display.
- Use ArcGIS Dashboards to monitor people, services, assets, and events in real time. This release includes a new version of ArcGIS Dashboards. The new ArcGIS Dashboards is now the default version for opening and creating dashboards. The previous version of ArcGIS Dashboards is now ArcGIS Dashboards Classic. For full details, see What's new in ArcGIS Dashboards.
- Use ArcGIS Instant Apps to create intuitive, interactive web apps directly from Map Viewer, the content page, and map item pages. For more information, see What's new in Instant Apps.
- Share image services that reference large collections of imagery, rasters, and other remotely sensed data.
Analysis
- Use web tools to share analysis with others across the organization. To learn more, see Publish web tools.
- Publish routing services based on your own network dataset and use them from applications such as ArcGIS Pro or to get directions and perform analysis in Map Viewer Classic.
Data management
- Add cloud data store items that access storage locations in Google Cloud.
- To support publishing workflows, administrators are encouraged to register user-managed storage when creating the organization. Once the organization is created, publishers can register folder data stores through the ArcGIS Enterprise Administrator API. The organization may be subject to downtime while storage is set for participating service pods.
